Emerging species in the Berthelais landscape

Between June and September 2025, artists Stéphanie Lagueux and Jonathan L’Ecuyer invite you to discover their real and virtual “creatures,” installed for the summer at the Chapelle des Cuthbert (461 Bienville Street, Berthierville, Quebec, J0K 1A0).

On Thursday, June 5, during the opening reception at 5 p.m., meet the artists on site and witness the passage of virtual creatures in augmented reality.

The “Espèce en voie d’apparition” (Emerging Species) project consists of integrating, documenting, and caring for a series of sculptures created from recycled plastic bottles, like a kind of herd that is moved around to feed, encountering people and landscapes along the way.

Using the app, frame your shot with your device by standing at these different viewpoints, where digital creatures have been integrated.
